What N. J. has been doing

February, 2008: Thanks to the FAN 590 radio station in Toronto for giving away 10 copies of Glitter of Diamonds to their fans.

Tuesday, Feb 12: N. J. was the guest speaker for over 70 members of the Probus Club at the Swan Lake residential community in Markham. She spoke for an hour on her life as a writer.

Tuesday, Feb 5th: N. J. joined Peter Robinson as part of the Casa Loma and Crime Writers of Canada reading series. She read from Glitter of Diamonds. About 50 people had paid to be there.

Wednesday, Dec. 12: N. J. was part of an 8-store, 16 author Canadian Author's Day hosted by Mitchell's Family Books.

Saturday, Nov 24, from 1:00 to 4:00, N. J. signed all of her books at Chapters, Woodside Centre, 3175 Highway 7 East in Markham.

Nov. 11: N. J. signed Glitter of Diamonds and Shaded Light as well as her teen novels at W. H. Smith in the Markville Mall in Markham, ON.

Nov. 3: N. J. signed her books at R. G. Mitchells Family Books, 565 Gordon Baker Road in Willowdale, Ontario, along with authors Keith Clemons, Denyse O'Leary, Eric E. Wright, and Diane Roblin Lee.

Oct. 27: N. J. read from her mysteries at the Rouge Valley Retirement Residence Intimate Tea in Markham, Ont. The tea was a fundrasisng event to support Osteoporosis Canada.

September 30: N. J. signed books at Word on the Street in Toronto with Crime Writers of Canada and The Word Guild.

June 14-16: N. J. was part of the faculty for Write! Canada. She moderated panels on Canadian publishing and did some critiques.

Mar. 15, 2007: N. J. is given a plaque and certificate from the York Region Police and Read For Life for her book, In Time of Troouble, and its positive message for teens.

April 28, 2005: The Word Guild's Awards short-list was released today. N. J.'s book, More Than Friends, is short-listed in the Young Adult Book category, and her column, The Inside Story, is short-listed in the Column/Editorial /First Person Essay (regular/ series) for The Word Guild writing awards. The winners will be announced June 17th.

Nov. 4, 2006: N. J. was keynote speaker and also taught three workshops for Write! Winnipeg.

Oct 21, 2006: N. J. taught a workshop on "Releasing Creativity in You and Your family" at Imagine 2006 in Toronto.

August 9-10, 2006: N. J. signed books at CBA in Ancaster, Ontario and moderated a terrific panel on "The Writer's Heart" at the banquet. The panelists are Keith Clemons, Margaret and Blake Davidson, Angelina Fast-Vlaar, and Sheila Wray Gregoire.

August 8, 2006: N. J. read from Shaded Light at a concert in Gage Park in Brampton.

Thur. - Sat., June 15-17, 2006: N. J. was the keynote speaker for Write! Canada, a conference for writers and aspiring writers in Guelph Ontario. N. J.'s topic was "Finding the Courage to Answer God's Call." She also taught a workshop on sharing your faith through your writing and was on a panel on self-publishing. Mon., June 12, 2006: N. J. moderated a fantastic panel called "The Writing Life" at Family Christian Bookstore in Burlington, Ontario. Other authors included Linda Hall, Keith Clemons, Paul Beckingham, Angelina Fast-Vlaar, and Jean Chamberlain Froese.

Sat, June 10, 2006: N. J. moderated the "Police Procedurals: the Most Popular Subgenre" panel at Bloody Words Mystery Convention in Toronto. Panelists included John Brady, Jake Doherty, Martin Limon, and Kay Stewart.

Apr. 16, 2006 - On Easter Sunday morning, N. J. was connected by a long-distance call to London, England, so she could read her article, "Easter Birth" and answer questions from Reuben, the DJ at Lightning FM. "Easter Birth" is the story of how the difficult birth of her first son on Easter Sunday many yeas ago became a highpoint in N. J.'s faith journey.

Mar. 18, 2006 - N. J. taught the workshop "Recycling Your Personal Experiences" for Write! London in London, Ontario. We all had a great time!

Mar. 15 - N. J. was the keynote speaker at the Read For Life event with the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.N. J. was featured along with Chris Bosh, Mike James, and other. Close to one thousand copies of N. J's book, In Time of Trouble, were given out. In Time of Trouble was chosen as the first book to be featured by Read for Life.

Dec 2, 2005: N. J. spoke about reading and read from In Time of Trouble for Read For Life at a youth convention at in Rexdale, Ont. Great to see so many young people - especially young men - in Lighthouse Fellowship Church on Friday night.

Nov. 18 - 19, 2005: N. J. was a featured author at Good Words Festival, Bayview Glen Alliance Church in Toronto. She spoke about "Why Christians Love Mysteries" and “Igniting Young Minds with Fiction,” plus taught workshop called "Discover the Writer in You" and read from Shaded Light, Best of Friends, and In Time of Trouble.

Nov. 12, 2005: N. J. read from In Time of Trouble for Read For Life at a concert at The Hope and Praise Cathedral in Mississauga. Very good music - fun event.

Oct. 29, 2005: N. J. read from In Time of Trouble for 10 minutes at the Heritage Singers and Friends Concert at the Hershey Center. Afterwards, she autographed a lot of her books for people.

Oct 22, 2005: N. J. was honored to be invited to present awards for instrumental song and almbum of the year as well as seasonal song and album of the year at the Canadian Gospel Music Covenant Awards in Scarborough. Her co-presenter was Johanne Robertson, publisher of the Maranatha News. It was great evening.

Sept.25, 2005: N.J. signed Shaded Light at the Crime Writers of Canada booth at Word on the Street in Toronto.

Sept. 24, 2005: N. J. and Johanne Robertson of Maranatha News presented the award for 2005 Canadian National Gospel Song of the year (for the writing) at the Maja Awards. Aug. 26-31, 2005: N. J. was a featured author at CBA in Ottawa. She also taught a workshop on writing, did a lot of networking, and signed several hundred books.

Aug. 12, 2005: N. J. spoke at the Read for Life Toronto Argo's pre-game church night event, 4:45 Friday, August 12. This event was sponsored by Maranatha News. More details
