After co-founding The Word Guild, she served as Executive Director for seven years and directed Write! Canada for 11 years.

N. J. is also the publisher and co-editor of the ground-breaking books, Hot Apple Cider and A Second Cup of Hot Apple Cider, which showcase Canadian writers who are Christian. J. served as Executive Director for seven years and directed its flagship conference, Write! Canada, for 11 years. N. J. judged the fiction manuscripts for the Best New Canadian Author Awards in both 2008 and 2009 and was one of the judges for the Grace Irwin Award from 2010 to 2012. Originally from Western Canada, N. J. and her family have lived in Markham, Ont. since 1986.
